Criteria

Criteria for membership in the National Art Honor Society emphasize outstanding artistic scholarship and service to the school and community through the development of artistic endeavors together with a strong moral character. By exemplifying these standards, the individual student members of the society promote an awareness of art and become active participants in the education process at their school and in their community.

The purposes of the Art National Honor Society are to:

  1. Foster excellence and a dedicated spirit in the pursuit of art.
  2. Further the creative abilities and talents of the Society’s members as well as the school’s entire student art enrollment.
  3. Aid members in working toward the attainment of their highest potential in an art area.
  4. Inspire and recognize those students who have shown outstanding ability in art.
  5. Increase an awareness of art in relation to other areas of the school curriculum.
  6. bring art to the attention of the school and community.
  7. further aesthetic awareness in all aspects of the school’s total program.
Projects completed by the National Art Honor Society include a large mural on the stairwell leading to the library and the school seal painted and displayed in the school entrance.

They also brought art awareness to the school through the "BeadforLife" organization.
