Lord, thank you for the privilege of a Catholic education. We are truly blessed to have the freedom to learn in a Godly atmosphere. Help us to find new levels of hope, freedom, wholeness, and purpose, so that we can walk successfully into the future that you have planned for us.
You Word says, “A wise man will hear, and will increase in learning” and that “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Help us to come to the realization that our highest reward is not for what we get out of this education, but what we become by it.
We pray that we will experience healing and freedom from any negative emotions, painful memories and destructive habits that may be holding us back. We pray that with your help we will find a way to become all that you have created us to be. Enrich our lives through the power of your Holy Spirit as we learn about the power of praying together with others. As your Word says, “Wherever two or more are gathered in MY NAME, there am I in the midst of them.” Thank you that we have a great opportunity to realize the high purpose and great future you have for us.
Lord, as we go forward into the entire world from this place, let us always remember the Sisters of Charity for their great devotion to teaching. Continue to bless all the Sisters, teachers and students alike, who enter these hallowed halls with wisdom for their lives. Help us to walk forward and never bring shame on this house as we become women of great success and purpose. Let us always remember to first and foremost be women of value and Christ like behavior.
We desire to live with a strong sense of God’s presence every day, knowing that in His presence, things that need to be changed in us and our situations will change. We desire, with your guidance, to share this message of hope to others our entire lives. As we share our faith, our hearts, our time, our secrets and our dreams, let us never forget the bonds of friendships we have shared here at the Academy of the Holy Family.

What our Alumnae have to say about attending the Academy of the Holy Family:
"My experience of being over there was like no other thing- the most precious and happy year of my youth." - International Student
“I graduated from Holy Family in 1960. It was after a wonderful 4 years where many friendships were formed.”
“Holy Family is one of my fondest memories, regardless of my reservations about it at the time of my attendance there. I did love that school and all the teachers in it, though.”
“I graduated in 1959 and have to say that for a small school we did receive a broad education with lots of experiences.”
“I feel that the Sisters really saved me at a time I needed female leadership.”
“I appreciated the nuns and loved them all. The educational requirements were very high and we were required to excel. I excelled!”
“We studied hard and enjoyed a lot of the nuns. The strength of the Academy was math. I enjoyed it and we received individual attention.”
An essay by one of our Alumna:
The Academy is an excellent place for young girls to grow. Being a student there, I was in no way sheltered from learning about diversity. If anything, the Academy offers a unique opportunity for its girls to excel because of the many different (international students) attending the school.
My time at the Academy was the best and prepared me to reach my goals in college and in graduate school. When I first started at the Academy in 1998 I was shy and thought to myself “Okay, this is going to take some getting used to.” But by my second year there I learned to love it!
The Academy became my home away from home and my second family. I love the girls that I went to school with and was blessed to have a graduating class of 13 because every single girl I knew and loved.
The Academy of the Holy Family is an excellent school designed to help students reach their goals, whatever they may be. Throughout my time as a student there, I was given the chance to excel and if help was needed, all I had to do was ask. The teachers there are kind, caring and wonderful people who seek to help the students out as best they can and at the same time, nurture a sense of respect and independence within the girls attending the school.
There are always opportunities for the girls to join sports, drama, or any of the other extracurricular activities that the school offers. Having a small attendance record only opens up the opportunity more so for the student, rather than hindering them and fostering a negative feeling of having to compete.
All in all, the Academy is a great school and I highly recommend it… When I have a daughter, I will certainly enroll her at the Academy. It would be a shame for a young woman to miss out on the wonderful people and learning that
can be found there.
